Behold, he cometh with CLOUDS —Rev. 1:7
I saw another mighty angel come down from heaven clothed with a CLOUD —Rev. 10:1
While he yet spake, behold, a BRIGHT CLOUD overshadowed them —Mat. 17:5
Moreover, brethren, I would not that ye should be ignorant, how that all our fathers were under the CLOUD —1 Cor. 10:1
What is a “cloud” in the Biblical sense of the word? When a person feels a concentration of God’s presence, it has been described as “hot”:
32 And they said one to another, Did not our HEART BURN within us, while he talked with us by the way, and while he opened to us the scriptures? (Luke 24)
Which makes sense, because God is fire:
24 For the Lord thy God is a consuming FIRE (Deuteronomy 4)
God is also light:
5 This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is LIGHT (1 John 1)
And God is also love:
8 He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is LOVE. (1 John 4)
But God is also a cloud:
5 While he yet spake, behold, a bright CLOUD overshadowed them: and behold a VOICE OUT OF THE CLOUD, which said, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him. (Matthew 17)
From times past, it was learned that great “signs” and “wonders” did not necessarily convince the wicked to change; they often just dug in their heels more. Therefore, we should not expect any (or very few) great signs and wonders as recorded in the Bible. What we can expect are “clouds” as prophesied.
Clouds (except for dark ones) are lovely to behold and non-threatening. The cloud type that God will bless us with are not “heavenly vehicles in disguise” but are life-forms made of a high concentration of God’s presence, and are designed to dwell among us, i.e., they will be gifts from God and thus are called AMANTA.
