The Computer Age has allowed us to see how many things (e.g., computer devices, cell phones, radios, etc.) can be simultaneously connected, and interfaced at the same time, allowing us to conceive how God could interface with all of creation simultaneously, and communicate messages to all of us—at the same time:
33 Did ever people hear the VOICE OF GOD speaking out of the midst of the fire, as thou hast heard, and live?
34 Or hath God assayed to go and take him a nation from the midst of another nation, by temptations, by signs, and by wonders, and by war, and by a mighty hand, and by a stretched out arm, and by great terrors, according to all that the Lord your God did for you in Egypt before your eyes?
35 Unto thee it was shewed, that thou mightest know that the Lord he is God; there is none else beside him.
36 Out of heaven he made thee to HEAR HIS VOICE, that he might instruct thee: and upon earth he shewed thee his great fire; and thou heardest his words out of the midst of the fire. (Deuteronomy 4)
The voice of God can not only be heard, but felt, as “thunder from heaven”:
8 Then the earth shook and trembled; the foundations of heaven moved and shook, because he was wroth.
9 There went up a smoke out of his nostrils, and fire out of his mouth devoured: coals were kindled by it.
10 He bowed the heavens also, and came down; and darkness was under his feet.
11 And he rode upon a cherub, and did fly: and he was seen upon the wings of the wind.
12 And he made darkness pavilions round about him, dark waters, and thick clouds of the skies.
13 Through the brightness before him were coals of fire kindled.
14 The Lord THUNDERED FROM HEAVEN, and the most High UTTERED HIS VOICE. (2 Samuel 22)18 The VOICE of thy THUNDER was in the HEAVEN: the lightnings lightened the world: the earth trembled and shook.
20 Thou leddest thy people like a flock by the hand of Moses and Aaron. (Psalms 77)
In times past, God used His voice to rebuke (as in the example of Nebuchadnezzar):
31 While the word was in the king’s mouth, there FELL A VOICE FROM HEAVEN, saying, O king Nebuchadnezzar, to thee it is spoken; The kingdom is departed from thee.
32 And they shall drive thee from men, and thy dwelling shall be with the beasts of the field: they shall make thee to eat grass as oxen, and seven times shall pass over thee, until thou know that the most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever he will.
33 The same hour was the thing fulfilled upon Nebuchadnezzar: and he was driven from men, and did eat grass as oxen, and his body was wet with the dew of heaven, till his hairs were grown like eagles’ feathers, and his nails like birds’ claws.
34 And at the end of the days I Nebuchadnezzar lifted up mine eyes unto heaven, and mine understanding returned unto me, and I blessed the most High, and I praised and honoured him that liveth for ever, whose dominion is an everlasting dominion, and his kingdom is from generation to generation:
35 And all the inhabitants of the earth are reputed as nothing: and he doeth according to his will in the ARMY OF HEAVEN, and among the inhabitants of the earth: and NONE CAN STAY HIS HAND, or say unto him, What doest thou?
36 At the same time my reason returned unto me; and for the glory of my kingdom, mine honour and brightness returned unto me; and my counsellors and my lords sought unto me; and I was established in my kingdom, and excellent majesty was added unto me.
37 Now I Nebuchadnezzar praise and extol and HONOUR THE KING OF HEAVEN, all whose works are truth, and his ways judgment: and those that walk in pride HE IS ABLE TO ABASE. (Daniel 4)
Or to praise:
17 And lo A VOICE FROM HEAVEN, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I AM WELL PLEASED. (Matthew 3:17)
10 And straightway coming up out of the water, he saw the heavens opened, and the Spirit like a dove descending upon him:
11 And THERE CAME A VOICE FROM HEAVEN, saying, Thou art my beloved Son, IN WHOM I AM WELL PLEASED. (Mark 1)22 And the Holy Ghost descended in a bodily shape like a dove upon him, and A VOICE CAME FROM HEAVEN, which said, Thou art my beloved Son; in thee I AM WELL PLEASED. (Luke 3)
And to announce His Son to the world:
7 And there was a cloud that overshadowed them: and A VOICE CAME OUT OF THE CLOUD, saying, THIS IS MY BELOVED SON: HEAR HIM. (Mark 9)
35 And there came A VOICE OUT OF THE CLOUD, saying, THIS IS MY BELOVED SON: HEAR HIM. (Luke 9)
To prophesy:
27 Now is my soul troubled; and what shall I say? Father, save me from this hour: but for this cause came I unto this hour.
28 Father, glorify thy name. THEN CAME THERE A VOICE FROM HEAVEN, saying, I have both glorified it, and WILL GLORIFY IT AGAIN [Jesus’ 2nd coming].
29 The people therefore, that stood by, and heard it, SAID THAT IT THUNDERED
30 Jesus answered and said, THIS VOICE came not because of me, but for your sakes.
31 Now is the judgment of this world: now shall the prince of this world be cast out [Jesus’ 2nd coming].
2 And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me [1st and 2nd comings]. (John 12)
The prophecies say God will shake the earth one more time by His voice:
26 Whose voice then shook the earth: but now he hath promised, saying, Yet once more I shake not the earth only, but also heaven. (Hebrews 12)
The sound of God’s voice has been described as both “many waters” (e.g., NIAGARA FALLS), and “great thunder”:
2 And I HEARD A VOICE FROM HEAVEN, AS THE VOICE of MANY WATERS, and AS THE VOICE of a GREAT THUNDER (Revelation 14)
God is a powerful Being who spoke mightily to the children of Israel anciently and He intends to do so again:
14 His head and his hairs were white like wool, as white as snow; and his eyes were as a flame of fire;
15 And his feet like unto fine brass, as if they burned in a furnace; and HIS VOICE AS THE SOUND OF MANY WATERS. (Revelation 1)
God will reward those who faithfully waited for Him—to do as He prophesied:
1 Oh that thou wouldest rend the heavens, THAT THOU WOULDEST COME DOWN, that the mountains might flow down at thy presence,
2 As when the melting FIRE BURNETH, the fire causeth the waters to boil, to MAKE THY NAME KNOWN TO THINE ADVERSARIES, THAT THE NATIONS MAY TREMBLE AT THY PRESENCE!
3 When thou didst terrible things which WE LOOKED NOT FOR, thou camest down, the MOUNTAINS FLOWED DOWN AT THY PRESENCE.
4 For since the beginning of the world MEN HAVE NOT HEARD, NOR PERCEIVED BY EAR, neither hath the eye seen, O God, beside thee, what he hath prepared for him that waiteth for him.
5 Thou meetest him that REJOICETH and worketh RIGHTEOUSNESS, those that remember thee in thy ways (Isaiah 64)
