Grudges Prevent Retribution

The Lord made it clear we must forgive:

12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. (Matthew 6)

Our salvation is largely based on whether we have forgiven others. In many ways, we are the masters of our destiny. When we have been wronged by someone, we feel the injustice and want retribution. The Lord taught:

44 Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you (Matthew 5)

A radical teaching for sure. Was Jesus weak? Did he not care about victims? The wisest person ever to live saw more than us; what did He know? As water seeks its own level, so too does the Universe seek to balance itself. This is called KARMA by many:

seen as bringing upon oneself inevitable results (Random House Dictionary)

Karma in simple words ‘is getting what you give’ or reaping what you sow; there’s good and bad karma. (Urban Dictionary)

One may find many “acts” of KARMA on YouTube.

This is also called: “People getting what they deserve” and is the point of this blog post. When we “hold a grudge” against an offender, we are taking “justice” into our own hands (despite not having the full picture, physically or spiritually).

This “hold” on them actually PROTECTS them as if to say, “I have first dibs on this b-tch/b-stard” which prevents the MASTER BALANCER from doing its work. I call that work miraculous and proof of God as the intelligent force that:

  1. sees all
  2. responds

Those things are not happening by “chance” just like “Chance” did not make the universe (i.e., which came first, the chicken or the egg?).

But it may take a while for it to come, if in this life at all. But based on the notion itself and empirical evidence, it would seem that God’s angels work night and day to balance the scales before we die because then it’s “too late” to “right wrongs.”

Thus, trust that God sees all, and His angels will in this life, when the timing is right, bring a swift retribution and don’t get in the way of that coming by wrapping the person in our grudge no matter how justified we feel it is. For our “cursing” grudge is nothing compared to what the Universe could bring.
