Love Conquers All

Love conquers all (or Love overcomes all) is a common expression, first found in the writings of Virgil1 and means:

“Every challenge, hardship, or obstacle can be overcome by love or compassion”2

Another understanding is that the universe was made by God—who IS love (1 John 4:16), i.e., “the universe was made by love” and “from love” and therefore responds to love.

Our actions—be they thoughts, emotions, intentions, or actions do have, directly or indirectly, affects on the “air” around us, be it physical or spiritual, which ripples just like water with the slightest touch over an ever-expanding distance.

Much of our weather results from this activity when such ripples are being generated by large numbers of people at the same time, such as on holidays, weekends, tax days, voting, etc.

In our personal lives, our interests of those different types will tug on us and those with the greatest love behind them will always win out. In this way, we can say love does “conquer” all, and come judgment day, we will see fully what affect our love had on the universe and everything it has.

All will then see what scripture and sages have expressed for ages, that it’s better to give than to receive; to love than ignore; forgive, and so forth like the Golden Rule. Those who were a blessing to the Universe will be invited by its creator to continue in it.

43 And if thy hand offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter into life maimed, than having two hands to go into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched:
44 Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched. (Mark 9)

They gave no help, therefore they will receive no help. They offered no mercy, therefore they shall receive none.

8 Even as I have seen, they that plow iniquity, and sow wickedness, REAP THE SAME.
9 By the blast of God they perish, and by the breath of his nostrils are they consumed. (Job 4)
